Our Revolution is proud to endorse Dr. Adam Hamawy for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th District — a lifelong public servant, veteran, and physician who has dedicated his career to saving lives, not serving corporate interests. Dr. Hamawy’s story is rooted in service. An immigrant who grew up in New Jersey, he worked his way through Rutgers on an ROTC scholarship, joined the New Jersey Army National Guard, and became a combat trauma surgeon in the U.S. Army, ultimately rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel. He treated victims on 9/11, saved lives on the battlefield in Iraq — including now-Senator Tammy Duckworth — and has spent more than three decades providing care in war zones and disaster areas around the world. But what sets Dr. Hamawy apart is not just his service — it’s what he has learned from it. From Iraq to Gaza, he has witnessed firsthand the devastating human cost of endless war and a foreign policy driven by politics and profit rather than humanity.

Dr. Adam Hamawy is a father, husband, humanitarian, surgeon, veteran, and small business owner running to represent New Jersey’s 12th District. He served as a combat trauma surgeon and became a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, working with medical teams in combat and disaster zones like Iraq and Haiti and saving hundreds of lives.

Since completing his service, Dr. Hamawy has spent the last decade building a successful medical practice in the Princeton area, while also dedicating more than 30 years volunteering to treat patients in overwhelmed hospitals, war zones, and disaster areas at home and abroad.

Dr. Hamawy believes healthcare, education, housing, and healthy food are human rights.
He believes that Congress should invest in the health, safety, and prosperity of our communities rather than using our tax dollars to bomb children and civilians abroad.

Now, Dr. Hamawy is running for Congress because he wants families to thrive, no matter who they are, where they come from, or where they live. In this moment of crisis for our nation, he’s stepping up to fight for affordability, safety, healthcare, education, housing, and everything else New Jerseyans need to live a good life.

He has also pledged to unrig a healthcare system that puts corporate profits ahead of patients by fighting for Medicare for All.
