Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger has a passion for advocating for families and building relationships with people across her community. She worked tirelessly in the Minnesota House of Representatives to create and pass policy to make South Maplewood, Woodbury, and the state of Minnesota a place where families thrive. Amanda will continue to lead on issues like affordable child care, protecting the environment, and access to affordable health care.

EMILYs List recruits, trains and supports Democratic pro-choice women candidates at every level of the ballot. By helping to elect these women to office in 2025 and 2026, we’re not only building a foundation for the future, but we’re also putting strong women in charge of decisions that affect women and families every day — from the legislators who write laws to the attorneys general who defend and enforce them to the secretaries of state who ensure access to the ballot.

Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger has a track record of addressing the PFAS crisis in Minnesota. She knows that PFAS is a Minnesota-made emergency that requires a Minnesota-made solution through smart policy and a commitment to prioritizing our families. She understands that some communities bear the burden of pollution more than others and her work to ensure ALL Minnesotans have clean and safe air, water, and healthy food for generations to come!

Amanda’s unique blend of education and experience in laboratory science and policy allows her to evaluate any policies fully and comprehensively before voting to implement them. She is a values-driven, passionate person who listens to understand. Amanda believes in bringing people together, gathering as much information and perspectives as possible, and leading with community input to make the best policy decision together.

Amanda is prepared to hit the ground running for her first session in the Minnesota Senate, with ambitious goals to advocate for women, children, and families. She has a history of voting in support of codifying a women’s right to access all forms of reproductive health care, take action to make child care more affordable, and increase access to other forms of women’s healthcare. Amanda’s expertise in genetics proved valuable in evaluating and discussing issues before various committees.

Amanda knows that the work is not done. She will continue to advocate for the people of south Maplewood and Woodbury, utilizing her scientific and policy background. Through collaboration with other Legislators and actively listening to community, Amanda works to break down systemic barriers to reproductive justice.
