To combat Florida’s escalating housing crisis, Angie supports federal rent stabilization measures, including a 10% cap on rent increases in struggling markets, banning private equity firms from buying up single-family homes, and boosting HUD and Community Development Block Grant funding for down-payment assistance.

In the Florida House, Angie has expanded childcare, taken on corporate price-gouging, and led the fight against DeSantis’ congressional redistricting effort.

In Tallahassee, Representative Nixon has been one of the most vocal advocates for lifesaving gun safety measures in the legislature. In fact, she has consistently pushed back on efforts to roll back lifesaving gun safety laws, including the bipartisan gun safety measures enacted after the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, State Representative Angie Nixon has been organizing and leading in her community for decades. She believes “American foreign policy should reflect the values of everyday Americans, not the interests of defense contractors and foreign lobbies. The US has spent billions of dollars waging war in Iran and jeopardizing the lives of American service members and Iranian civilians, all for a war that Americans did not ask for.” She has vowed to promote a foreign policy that “us[es] the UN Security Council and multilateral diplomacy — not unilateral military action — as the first tool for resolving international conflicts.”
