Robert "Bo" Whitehead is the North Carolina Green Party's candidate for US House, District 8. District 8 covers several counties in the Western Piedmont (Anson, Montgomery, Richmond, Scotland, Stanly, Union) and parts of Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Robeson. Bo has lived in Charlotte North Carolina for 3 years, moving there from rural Georgia. He has been happily married for 8 years, and is the primary caregiver for his wife, permanently disabled after an assault. Bo has a long and varied work history. He has been a custodian, agas station attendant, a deli worker, an auto parts representative/delivery driver, a dump truck driver, a hazardous chemical transport expert and trainer, and a shipping loader. Bo is currently working as a warehouse supervisor. Navigating the federal and state social safety net for disabled persons, which is often arbitrary and unfair, opened Bo’s eyes to the inadequacy of government to care for the people it claimed to represent.
