Cheryl YouakimCheryl Youakim

Representative Cheryl Youakim knows how to deliver real, positive change for Minnesota. As a mom, a legislative leader, and paraprofessional, she is deeply committed to protecting our kids from toxic chemicals in our water.

Cheryl started out in the “political” world as a parent advocating for investment in early childhood and family education. ECFE taught her how to be a better parent and she wanted to be a voice at the decision making table when ECFE was facing funding cuts. Cheryl then ran for Hopkins City Council because when she saw a disconnect between her city and the citizens it served. Currently, Cheryl serves in the Minnesota House as the Education Finance Co-Chair. In 2023-2024 she help to shepherd thru the largest investment in K-12 education since the first Minnesota Miracle. Cheryl is also a steadfast supporter of comprehensive health education and access to reproductive care.
