Christine Kushner has dedicated her career to advancing equitable public policy through education, health care, and community service. As the daughter of Greek immigrants who came to the United States seeking greater opportunity, she developed an early appreciation for the importance of inclusion, civic participation, and ensuring every community can succeed. Growing up in Fayetteville’s integrated public schools further shaped her commitment to diversity, equity, and public service.
Kushner has built a distinguished record of leadership through her service on the Wake County Board of Education and the Wake County Health and Human Services Board, where she has worked to balance the needs of one of North Carolina’s most diverse and rapidly growing counties. Her experience as a health policy analyst and public servant has reinforced her belief that good government requires thoughtful stewardship of public resources, equitable access to services, and a commitment to ensuring every resident is treated with fairness and dignity.
NCAAT in Action is proud to endorse Christine Kushner because of her longstanding commitment to equitable public education, inclusive leadership, and responsive local government. Her understanding of the immigrant experience, combined with her record of advocating for fair policies and thoughtful investment in communities, reflects the values that guide NCAAT in Action’s work. We are confident she will continue working to ensure Wake County remains a place where every resident—including its growing Asian American community—can thrive.
