Former council members Keith Powers and Erik Bottcher will be starting their first full terms in the Assembly and Senate, respectively, after prevailing in the processes to fill vacancies that arose last year. They are two of New York’s most unequivocally forward-looking legislators, especially on housing policy. For example, together, they delivered the Midtown South Mixed-Use plan that will revitalize midtown, create 10,000 homes, and deliver a dedicated busway across 34th street.
