As a uniting force in the House, Leader Jeffries also played an important role in bringing members on both sides of the aisle together to make history in 2022 by passing the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first major gun safety legislation signed into law in nearly 30 years in response to the devastating mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

As the House Democratic leader, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries has been outspoken as a leader on the U.S.-Israel relationship since first being elected in 2012. Jeffries has gone on four trips to Israel through AIPAC’s sister foundation AIEF, and on several of these trips he led delegations.

Incumbent

Every endorsed candidate voted for the Faster Labor Contracts Act, a Teamsters-backed bill that would streamline the process for newly organized workers who are working to secure their first collective bargaining agreement. "It's an honor to support this bipartisan group of incumbents, because the Faster Labor Contracts Act is a gamechanger, and it will empower workers more than any federal law that's been passed since the New Deal," said Thomas Gesualdi, President of Teamsters Joint Council 16. "Support for this bill is a litmus test for whether a member of Congress actually supports the American worker, and every one of our endorsed candidates passed that test with flying colors."
