Illapa Sairitupac is a tenant organizer and anti-ICE activist running to represent Lower Manhattan. Illapa says New York is becoming unaffordable for everyone but the wealthy, and he’s running to make New York more affordable for working people, defend renters, and stand up to ICE. His campaign is rooted in the working-class and immigrant communities of Chinatown and the Lower East Side and the belief that the people who built these neighborhoods should be able to afford to remain in them.
