Understanding that everyday items are increasingly out of reach, Janelle will champion bipartisan efforts to lower the cost of basic necessities—including food, gas, housing, and child care—while resisting regressive national sales taxes that burden the middle class.

Next fall, a new gun safety majority in Congress will run through battleground seats like Pennsylvania’s Tenth District, and voters must turn out to flip this seat and send a committed advocate like Janelle Stelson to advocate on their behalf. She knows that it will take all of us to make real change, and she’s ready to do the hard work of getting it done on gun safety.

Janelle Stelson is running to represent Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, a seat currently held by Republican Rep. Scott Perry. Central Pennsylvanians have relied on Stelson, a broadcast journalist for more than 30 years, to tell the truth, get answers, and hold the powerful accountable. In 2024, Stelson was one of the top-performing Democratic candidates and was narrowly defeated by Perry. JDCA is proud to endorse Stelson in her bid to finally unseat Perry in 2026.

Democrat Janelle Stelson came within 5,100 votes of ousting Rep. Scott Perry in 2024, and she is back with even stronger momentum in a race rated as one of the most competitive in Pennsylvania. The district is trending, the energy is there, and this cycle presents an opportunity for a strong pickup. This is a race where a small number of votes could flip a seat and deal a direct blow to the Republican majority.

As a local broadcast journalist, Janelle Stelson has spent her career listening to and advocating for the people of Central Pennsylvania. She moved to Harrisburg in 1986 to join WHTM-TV as a reporter and weather anchor, and later joined WGAL-TV 8 where she spent 26 years as Central Pennsylvania’s most trusted voice. Janelle isn’t a career politician, she’s a truth-telling outsider running to shake up a broken Washington and make life more affordable. In 2024, she ran an incredibly strong race, winning Independent, Republican, and Democratic voters and outperforming the top of the ticket by one of the largest margins out of any candidate across the entire country. As Scott Perry continues to put his own extreme politics ahead of Central Pennsylvanians, Janelle is poised to flip this seat.
