John BielkaJohn Bielka

John Bielka is a Democrat challenging incumbent Rep. Penner in the 31st Legislative District, Position 2. He is a civil engineer running to bring practical solutions to Olympia. Bielka takes a more cautious approach to governance, advocating for a mix of progressive and moderate policies. He advocates for housing affordability, proactive flood protection, and infrastructure maintenance. Bielka frequently references reducing project delays and cutting red tape, echoing more moderate talking points about reducing spending over increasing taxes. We know that taxes are not a punishment and are especially needed to continue funding critical programs and services in light of significant federal funding cuts. Bielka does hold some progressive values, such as supporting affordable housing developments and practical healthcare solutions that expand access to services and increase cost transparency. In this race, John Bielka is the most progressive candidate and is our choice to replace Rep. Penner in the 31st Legislative District, Position 2.
