With a background in engineering, education, and public service, Kate is fighting to get money out of politics, strengthen democracy, guarantee equal protection under the law, and care for Michigan’s land, water, and communities. She educates on climate change, advocates for health care access and worker rights, and organizes so families can live safe, healthy, educated lives.

After returning to the area in 2020, she became a teacher, started a pet care business, and began selling art and jewelry in her family’s business.

Like many people in northern Michigan, Gallup is tired of the status quo that benefits a smaller and smaller number of wealthy insiders. Lowering costs, expanding healthcare access, funding our schools, and getting money out of politics are top priorities for Gallup.
