Leesa Manion is running unopposed for re-election for King County Prosecutor. She previously worked as the chief of staff of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for 15 years and was elected to the role in 2022. Manion is the first woman and the first person of color in this role. Outside of the prosecutor's office, Manion has helmed several leadership roles, including on the boards of the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, and as co-founding partner of Choose 180, which offers coaching and diversion programs to keep youth out of the juvenile justice system. In her re-election campaign, Manion champions her many successes from her first term, particularly in assisting people in crisis while protecting residents from crime. She highlights her creation of specialized divisions within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to allow for more efficiency and nuance in addressing different types of conflict. Manion has also supported diversion programs, particularly for youth, to help expand alternatives to incarceration. When re-elected, she hopes to continue these efforts and pursue what she calls institutional reform and victim-centered prosecution. Although she is running unopposed, Leesa Manion has earned your vote to serve another term as King County Prosecuting Attorney.
