Representative Mark Sigrist is serving his first term in the Ohio House. Before coming to the Ohio House, Sigrist served on the Grove City Council and held various executive positions with Honda North America. Among other committees, he serves on the Ohio House Ways and Means Committee. Sigrist supports a stronger financial investment for public education by advocating that state tax policy should provide sufficient revenue to fully fund public schools that would in turn ease the burden on local property taxpayers. Additionally, he has argued that increasing taxpayer funding for private school vouchers without equivalent accountability diverts resources from the public schools that educate roughly 90% of Ohio’s students. Representative Sigrist has been supportive of OEA’s key educational issues and has a score of 100 on the OEA Legislative Scorecard.
