Matt Koleszar is running for the Michigan State Senate after serving in the Michigan House of Representatives since 2019.

Koleszar learned the value of hard work while being raised by a single mother and operating room nurse. He later graduated from Saginaw Valley State University and earned a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. He taught civics and Advanced Placement U.S. government in the Airport Community School District for 12 years. During that time, he served as president of the Airport Education Association.

Koleszar has served in the Michigan House since 2019. His accomplishments in the House include sponsoring a law that allows children of fallen first responders to attend a Michigan public university tuition-free. Under another bill he introduced that is now law, school paraprofessionals are able to participate in a certification program to become a classroom teacher.

In the Senate, Koleszar wants to ensure adequate funding for schools and infrastructure as well as expanding access to healthcare.
