Michaela (pronounced "Michelle") Kelso is running for the open seat to represent the 6th Legislative District in the state House. Kelso has served as the state committee chair for the 7th Legislative District Democrats and previously ran for the Legislature in 2022 on a community-centric platform. She spent more than a decade as a linguist and interrogator for the Military Intelligence Corps. In her previous run for the legislature, Kelso was a staunch advocate for progressive reforms to improve the quality of life for all Washingtonians, including affordable healthcare and medicine, a balanced tax code where everyone pays what they truly owe, and strong public education opportunities. Kelso also supported affordable housing and services to support our neighbors dealing with substance abuse and addiction. Her current campaign prioritizes the same issues, with healthcare, housing, and education at the forefront. We believe that Michaela Kelso is the best choice in this race, making her our recommendation in the 6th Legislative District.
