Mike McGuireMike McGuire

YIMBY Action supports Mike McGuire for Congress because California's housing crisis needs allies in Washington, and McGuire helped pass some of the biggest housing reforms in state history. As Senate President pro Tem, he led the Senate in 2025 when the Legislature passed landmark CEQA reform exempting most urban infill housing from environmental review.

His leadership led to the passage of laws strengthening California’s assault weapons ban and concealed carry requirements, and creating dedicated funding for school safety and community violence intervention programs. He has also supported measures to crack down on ghost guns and illegal firearms to help keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals and make our communities safer.

Elect Mike McGuire for Congress to put CD-01 on the right track for progress.
