Mona Singh has dedicated her career to bringing people together to solve complex challenges through service, innovation, and community leadership. A technology executive, refugee advocate, and longtime Wake County resident, Singh has spent years working alongside nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, and neighborhood groups to expand opportunity for families across one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing counties. As an Indian American immigrant and community organizer, she understands both the promise and the challenges of building inclusive communities where everyone can succeed.

Throughout her career, Singh has championed public education, affordable housing, responsible growth, and economic opportunity while helping strengthen relationships among Wake County’s increasingly diverse communities. Her experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors has shaped a collaborative leadership style grounded in listening, transparency, and practical problem-solving. She believes local government is most effective when residents from every background have a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their communities.

Mona Singh has proudly called Wake County home since 1995. She and her husband, a Professor at NC State, have raised their children here—both graduates of Wake County Public Schools. A nationally recognized technology expert, Mona holds more than 135 U.S. patents, has played a key role in major industry innovations that improve everyday lives, and has served as an expert witness in high-profile technology cases. Beyond her career, Mona is deeply committed to service. She has led hunger relief efforts, refugee support programs, and community volunteer initiatives, including being a top volunteer and mentor for Wake Dems. She serves on the Board of Directors for Activate Good and the Town of Cary’s Information Services Advisory Board. Now, Mona is ready to bring her expertise in problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and community advocacy to the Wake County Commission. She is committed to strengthening public education, expanding access to healthcare, and improving transportation and infrastructure to support Wake County’s growing needs.
