Two-term Rep. Monica De La Cruz from the Rio Grande Valley is a friend of the U.S.-Israel relationship. The Lone Star State representative cosponsored and voted for legislation that sanctions foreign ports and refineries that process Iranian petroleum and a bill that extends restrictions on Iran’s ballistic missile program.

Rep. De La Cruz, the first Hispanic Republican woman to represent Texas in Congress, has quickly become a leading voice for border security, agriculture, and seniors’ benefits. In her first term, she passed six major bills—including one combatting fentanyl trafficking, the first from her district in nearly two decades.

Incumbent

Congresswoman De La Cruz (TX-15) is the first Republican and the first Latina to represent her district, where she is known for her tough stances on border security and fentanyl trafficking. To address her region’s water challenges, De La Cruz has taken bold steps to hold the Mexican government accountable for its water debt. De La Cruz sits on the House Agriculture and Financial Services Committees.

Just a few weeks after the horror of October 7, 2023, antisemitic vandals targeted first-term Rep. Monica De La Cruz's district office, defacing the building with messages attacking the Congresswoman for standing with Jewish Americans and for supporting Israel's war of self-defense in Gaza. In response, our friend Congresswoman De La Cruz vowed to redouble her support for Jewish Americans and for the beleaguered Jewish state.

Now in her second term, Rep. De La Cruz faces Tex-Mex music star Bobby Pulido. Pulido hasn't said much about Jewish matters, but he's proudly endorsed by the anti-Israel lobbying organization J Street. This part of South Texas voted heavily for Trump in 2024, but Democrats are betting big on their celebrity challenger.
