Rep. Nick LaLota has been an ally of the U.S.-Israel relationship over his two terms representing far eastern Long Island, including the Hamptons. After October 7th, he cosponsored and voted for legislation backing Israel and affirming its right to self-defense while condemning Hamas and its barbaric attack on the Jewish state.

Incumbent

Nick LaLota is a father, husband, proud American, Navy veteran, and Congressman representing New York’s 1st Congressional District. In Congress, Nick serves on the Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Small Business Committees, where he works to protect Long Island families, strengthen national security, and support small businesses. Before serving in Congress, Nick graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, deploying overseas in support of America’s national security mission. After returning home to Long Island, he continued his public service in local government, including roles as an Amityville Village Trustee, Suffolk County Board of Elections Commissioner, and Chief of Staff to the Suffolk County Legislature.

Every endorsed candidate voted for the Faster Labor Contracts Act, a Teamsters-backed bill that would streamline the process for newly organized workers who are working to secure their first collective bargaining agreement. "It's an honor to support this bipartisan group of incumbents, because the Faster Labor Contracts Act is a gamechanger, and it will empower workers more than any federal law that's been passed since the New Deal," said Thomas Gesualdi, President of Teamsters Joint Council 16. "Support for this bill is a litmus test for whether a member of Congress actually supports the American worker, and every one of our endorsed candidates passed that test with flying colors."
