Nicole MacriNicole Macri

Seeking her sixth term, incumbent Rep. Nicole Macri is running for re-election in the 43rd Legislative District, House Position 1. First elected to the House in 2016, she is a progressive leader who champions affordable housing, healthcare access, and protections for people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ communities. She also serves as the Deputy Director for Strategy for the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) in Seattle. Macri has passed policies rooted in a housing-first approach to affordability and rent stabilization, expanding access to healthcare, promoting reproductive justice, protecting renters and workers, addressing homelessness, and expanding LGBTQ+ civil rights. During her recent term, she co-sponsored legislation to remove local barriers to building affordable housing with on-site services, transitional housing, and emergency shelters. This year, she also voted to pass legislation that delivers tax relief for working families and small businesses, provides free breakfast and lunch to all K-12 public school students, and eliminates sales taxes on personal care products, diapers, and many over-the-counter drugs.
