Nolan SoutherlandNolan Southerland

Elect Nolan Southerland for City Council to keep Burbank on the right track for progress. Nolan Southerlandis a community organizer and a 15-year union member of IATSE Local 700. He is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and works with the Burbank Tenants Union. Southerland’s priorities include affordable housing, welcoming immigrants, transportation, better jobs, supporting youth, a greener Burbank, and public safety.

We endorsed two candidates here: Mike van Gorder and Nolan Southerland. Nolan is also a proud cadre candidate; in addition to being an IATSE Local 700 member for 15 years, he is active in the Burbank Tenants Union and in anti-ICE community organizing through the Burbank Community Defense Coalition. Nolan brings a volunteer base that Mike’s campaign hasn’t built to the same degree. Both candidates have been endorsed by DSA-LA, Konstantine Anthony, UNITE HERE Local 11, the Working Families Party, and socialist sci-fi writer and Burbank resident Cory Doctorow (IYKYK). Nolan is endorsed by Corgi enthusiast and City Controller Kenneth Mejia, the LA County Federation of Labor, and Streets for All.
