Gross has been endorsed by the following progressive partner organizations: Michigan Association for Justice, and Service Employees International Union - Michigan. Gross is running against Republican Brandon Strong. Strong espouses right-wing views and is endorsed by Right to Life of Michigan, an anti-choice organization.
