Renee Hernandez Greenfield is running for the Washington State House of Representatives in the 26th Legislative District, in the open seat being vacated by retiring Republican Representative Michelle Valdez (formerly Caldier). Her campaign focuses on expanding educational opportunity, strengthening climate resilience, improving affordability, and ensuring working families have the support they need to thrive. Hernandez Greenfield brings extensive experience in early childhood education and program administration, including managing early learning centers and overseeing federally funded Early Head Start and Head Start programs that serve children from birth through school age. In that work, she has focused on expanding access to high-quality early learning, supporting child development, and coordinating services for families with complex needs, including those in underserved and Indigenous communities. She has also worked closely with educators and community providers to improve program delivery and ensure families can access stable, culturally responsive care and support. Her career reflects a long-standing commitment to strengthening public systems that support children and families, particularly in historically underserved communities.
