Samantha Kattan is a working parent, longtime tenant organizer, daughter of Mexican and Syrian immigrants, and democratic socialist running to represent Long Island City, Maspeth, Ridgewood, Sunnyside, and Woodside. Through her work organizing tenants, Samantha says she has seen both the housing conditions New Yorkers are forced to endure and the power people have when they organize together.
