Scott Colom is an elected district attorney who has proven he can win voters across party and racial lines in Mississippi. He is focused on taking on corruption in DC and the rising cost of living, including Trump’s tariffs and war in Iran, both of which Senator Hyde-Smith has supported. Black voters make up about one-third of the electorate—more than any other state—but turn out at a lower rate than white voters. Colom’s path to victory is predicated on increasing turnout among Black voters and modestly increasing support with white voters.

Scott Colom is a proud seventh-generation Mississippian who’s been a prosecutor, a judge, and a widely praised District Attorney. As the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Mississippi, Scott is running to lower costs and raise wages for working families, protect our healthcare, and save our hospitals. Currently in his third term as District Attorney, Scott was first elected in 2015 at the age of just 32, unseating a 27-year incumbent while running on a reform platform. In 2022, Scott was nominated to be Federal Judge for the Northern District of Mississippi by President Joseph Biden.
