Rep. Shaun Scott is running unopposed for re-election to represent the 43rd Legislative District in Position 2 in the Washington State House. Scott had a successful first term in the House, serving as a champion for bold progressive policies. In the 2026 Legislative Session, Scott was a leader on progressive tax policies, most notably sponsoring a bill to establish the Well Washington Fund. While it did not pass this session, the Well Washington Fund was a step toward fixing Washington's regressive tax code and closing budget gaps so the state can continue providing essential services. Additionally, Scott led the effort to reverse the corporate tax breaks originally included in the historic Millionaires Tax. Scott took a number of favorable votes on other progressive policies, including AI regulations, affordable housing development, and law enforcement accountability. While he does not have a campaign website published as of late September, we believe he will continue to be a vocal advocate for progressive policies.
