Teresa Mosqueda has been a consistent champion for UAW members in King County — as a Seattle City Councilmember, she led a work session highlighting the impacts of discrimination and harassment experienced by postdocs at UW during our first postdoc contract fight. As a county councilmember, she has led the council on growing and expanding union jobs and holding employers accountable, building more affordable housing and transit infrastructure, and strengthening public health. Given Mosqueda’s record of actively and consistently supporting labor and her deep commitment to advancing member priorities at the county level, Mosqueda is unequivocally the right choice for re-election to this seat. Vote Mosqueda for King County Council District 8.

Teresa Mosqueda is running for re-election to the King County Council, District 8. She previously served on the Seattle City Council from 2017 to 2023 before being elected to the county council in 2023. Prior to her time in elected office, Mosqueda worked at the Washington State Labor Council as a political campaigns director and served on the board of Fuse Washington. Mosqueda established herself as a progressive leader on the Seattle City Council and has continued that approach on the county council. She sponsored the Jumpstart Seattle legislation, which helps fund affordable housing through a tax on high earners at large corporations. She also supported expanding paid sick leave and establishing minimum wages for gig and other workers who have often been excluded from labor protections. Her previous campaign priorities included addressing our housing crisis with greater urgency, including re-zoning to increase housing supply across Seattle, expanding support for renters, and investing in public health across the city. More recently, Mosqueda has led efforts to push back against federal immigration enforcement following the murders of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. She helped ban federal immigration enforcement on county property and sponsored a moratorium on detention centers. Her re-election campaign is focused on strengthening public health through gun violence prevention and increasing access to behavioral health services, building more affordable housing to prevent displacement in communities of color, and protecting labor rights. Teresa Mosqueda has consistently been a progressive champion who continues to stand up for her constituents. We recommend her for another term on the King County Council, in District 8.
