With gun violence continuing to take far too many lives each day, it’s imperative that voters across the country reinstate a gun safety majority in the US House this November—starting with reelecting Representative Yassamin Ansari to another term serving Arizona’s Third District.

Rep. Yassamin Ansari is the former Vice Mayor of Phoenix and has served as the U.S. representative for Arizona's 3rd Congressional District since 2025. She is the first Iranian American elected to public office in Arizona and the youngest woman ever elected to the Phoenix City Council. She worked as an advisor in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, as deputy political director for the Global Climate Action Summit, and as senior policy advisor to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Her priorities include climate action, reproductive rights, and affordable college. She is a steadfast advocate for a two-state solution and believes the United States has a "critical responsibility" to help broker a solution free from the threat of violence. JDCA endorsed Rep. Ansari in 2024.

Yassamin Ansari is running for re-election to Congress in Arizona’s 3rd District. She was unopposed in the July 21 Democratic primary. Ansari is in her first term in Congress, winning the 2024 general election with 71% of the vote. Prior to her service in Congress, she was a member of the Phoenix City Council. In 2025, Ansari became the third member of Congress to identify with the humanist and atheist community and she is a member of the Congressional Freethought Caucus. Ansari is an agnostic.
