ISBA:
Judge Molina-Gonzalez was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2001. Prior to her appointment to the circuit court in 2019, she was a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney in the Child Support Enforcement Division and the Felony Trial Division; and Chief of Real Estate Prosecutions for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. She was elected to a countywide vacancy in 2020 and is assigned to the Fourth Municipal District (Maywood) where her duties rotate every 4 months. She has covered various courtrooms, including misdemeanors, preliminary hearings, domestic violence, and occasionally felony and mental health courts.
Judge Molina-Gonzalez has a variety of community engagements, including work with Special Olympics, Friendship Animal Protective League, Corazon Community Services, and the Arts Alliance of Forest Park, to name only a few. Attorneys report that she is knowledgeable and research cases; is level-headed and respectful. ISBA recommends Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
