Cassie Canedo is a Democrat running for her first term in the Michigan House of Representatives in the 50th District.
Canedo's priorities grow out of her work as an oncology nurse practitioner from Fowlerville. She is challenging the 50th District's incumbent because, in her words, she is tired of the hateful rhetoric coming from the current representation. Our platform emphasizes quality schools, universal access to healthcare, and economic security for families who she says should not have to work multiple jobs or face medical bankruptcy. She has also been an active opponent of a proposed hyperscale data center in Howell Township, and she supports expanding voter access while opposing measures that would disenfranchise voters.
Canedo has been endorsed by the following progressive partner organizations: Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan
Canedo is running against Republican incumbent Jason Woolford who is endorsed by the anti-reproductive freedom organization Right to Life Michigan and the right-wing organization Citizens for Traditional Values.
Cassie Canedo is the most progressive choice in this race.
