Michigan House of Representatives, District 75

Penelope Tsernoglou is an incumbent Democrat running for her third term in the Michigan House of Representatives in the 75th District. Tsernoglou is a graduate of the University of Michigan as well as Michigan State University-Detroit College of Law. She worked directly with victims of heinous crimes and later served as a defense attorney, working on behalf of indigent defendants in the Lansing area. In her three terms on the Ingham County Commission, she spearheaded efforts that led to improvements for the Ingham County’s trail system and the construction of a new, state-of-the-art animal shelter. Tsernoglou’s legislative priorities include expanding fair access to the ballot, advocating for labor unions, workers, and working families, increasing access to health care, reforming the criminal justice system, defending Michigan’s water and air, protecting our children from gun violence and supporting public education, among many other issues. Tsernoglu has been endorsed by the following progressive partner organizations: American Federation of Teachers - Michigan, Equality Michigan Action Network, Michigan AFL-CIO, Sierra Club - Michigan, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Michigan Association for Justice, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, and Service Employees International Union - Michigan. Tsernoglou is running against Republican Frank Lambert. Penelope Tsernoglou is the most progressive choice in this race.
