Maggie’s List has endorsed Ellen Weaver for reelection as South Carolina Superintendent of Education. Ellen’s election in 2022 marked a significant political shift in the state’s educational leadership. As the former president and CEO of a conservative state think tank and a former chair of the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee, she brought decades of experience as a passionate advocate for educational excellence and opportunity. Since taking office, she has delivered on the promises she made: raising pay and securing paid parental leave for teachers, launching bold literacy and math reforms, expanding education choice, and cutting red tape so teachers can focus on teaching.
