Adison Richards is running for re-election as State Representative in the 26th Legislative District. Richards previously worked at the Northwest Justice Project, assisting survivors of crime, including domestic violence and human trafficking, and now works at Kitsap Legal Services in housing law. He also volunteers in the community with groups like the Rotary Club, Harbor History Museum, and the Bremerton NAACP. Richards has had a mixed first term in office, voting both for and against some progressive policies. Richards co-sponsored a bill to promote transit-oriented development, which was a win for affordable housing development at a time when supply in the state has not kept pace with demand. However, he voted against rent stabilization in 2025, which was a significant step toward protecting renters from extortionate rent increases and keeping more of our neighbors in their homes. His record on labor protections was also more mixed, having voted against the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and unemployment insurance for striking workers. Richards took more favorable votes on education and protecting voter access. Adison Richards' voting record reflects a more moderate approach to governance, with room to take more boldly progressive stances. However, Richards is the best choice in this race to defeat an extreme right-wing candidate who has the potential to cause serious harm in our state. Richards is our recommendation.
