Cynthia Gonzalez is an educator and incumbent councilmember first elected in 2022 and currently serving as mayor. Since taking office, Cynthia has advanced policies aligned with DSA priorities including pushing a community based approach to public safety with a focus on prevention and connecting communities with basic needs and strengthening sanctuary protections for immigrant residents. Gonzalez is endorsed by the Working Families Party and UNITE HERE Local 11, LAUSD school board members and DSA-LA Socialists in Office, Karla Griego and Rocio Rivas, as well as a number of South East Los Angeles based elected officials and state legislators. Following UNITE HERE Local 11, we recommend you vote for the two Cynthias, Gonzalez and Romo.
