Derrick Lente is an attorney, entrepreneur, and state legislator with a longstanding commitment to strengthening Tribal communities and expanding opportunity across New Mexico. A member of Sandia Pueblo, Lente has represented House District 65 since 2017 and currently serves as Chair of the House Taxation and Revenue Committee. Before entering public office, Lente built one of the largest Native-owned staffing companies in the United States. During his time in the legislature, he has championed investments in education, economic development, Tribal communities, and public infrastructure, including helping secure a historic increase in education funding for New Mexico’s Tribal schools. Lente is running for re-election to continue advancing policies that strengthen public education, support economic opportunity, protect Tribal lands and resources, and improve the quality of life for New Mexico families.
