Kaylee Kuehn is running for the open seat in the 24th Legislative District, Position 2. Kuehn is an educator and has spent time in the Legislature working for different Senators. She is running to bring a new perspective to state government, being one of the youngest legislators, if elected. Kuehn's top three priorities are affordability, education, and housing. In our interview, she demonstrated a deep understanding of the district and the communities within it. As an educator, she took a thoughtful approach to bridging political divides across party lines without compromising her values. Kuehn's approach to affordable housing drew on her observations of European models, particularly in centering housing development on community needs, such as transit and employment. When asked about public safety, she shared a friend's negative experience with law enforcement that shaped her perspective on police accountability and led her to advocate for more cultural training and community engagement. Although Kuehn expressed support for progressive revenue options, she remained cautious of the new Millionaires Tax, citing concerns for its implementation timeline and possible expansion to other income brackets. However, she was still supportive of finding creative revenue options to ensure our state can continue to provide high quality public services for all. Kaylee Kuehn takes a community-centered approach to governance and is the most progressive choice in this race.
