Mike Harostock Announces His Candidacy For State Representative
Wilkes-Barre, PA – Last night in front of a large crowd of supporters, Republican Mike Harostock
announced his candidacy for State Representative in Pennsylvania’s 121st Legislative District,
challenging longtime incumbent Eddie Day Pashinski, citing a need for forward looking leadership in
Harrisburg.
Harostock said his campaign is rooted in a deep commitment to the people of Luzerne County and a belief
that state government must better reflect the voices, values, and priorities of the communities it serves.
Harostock will unite our community by focusing on bringing new energy, innovation, and accountability
to Harrisburg, while protecting the values and traditions that make our communities strong.
The 121st Legislative District includes the city of Wilkes-Barre, the townships of Bear Creek, Buck, Plains,
and Wilkes-Barre, and the boroughs of Bear Creek Village and Laurel Run.
Born and raised in Luzerne County, Harostock represents a fourth generation of his family to call
Northeast Pennsylvania home. He and his wife are raising their daughter here, passing along the values of
family, hard work, and service which define the region.
“Luzerne County is my home,” Harostock said. “It’s where neighbors look out for one another, take pride
in their communities, and care deeply about the future we are building together. I’m running because I
believe our district deserves common-sense leadership which listens, solves problems, and delivers
results – not politics as usual.”
A scientist and inventor by trade, Harostock has spent his career solving real-world problems across
medical device research, supply chain and logistics, information services, and information technology. He
currently leads new technology and product development at his family-owned information services
company, where he most recently designed and launched proprietary, industry-leading technology.
Harostock is a graduate of Penn State University and holds graduate degrees from Drexel University, The
Commonwealth Medical College, and Villanova University.
Deeply engaged in the community, Harostock has directed a local charity and currently serves on several
boards, including the Chamber of Commerce and a local youth camp. He also coaches a local high school
sports team and contributes nationally to coach development programs.
A lifelong Northeastern Pennsylvania love story, Harostock met his wife in grade school; they became
friends in high school, dated in college, and have been married for eleven years. In his free time, he enjoys
cycling and teaching his daughter about heroes – both local and historic.
