Rep. Osman Salahuddin is running for re-election in Legislative District 48, House Position 1. Salahuddin is a former Redmond City Council member who was appointed by the King County Council to fill Sen. Vandana Slatter's former seat. Before holding elected office, he worked as a communications and community engagement manager for King County Councilmember Sarah Perry and held several roles at a national consulting firm. As one of our youngest lawmakers, Salahuddin represents a part of the electorate that is often underrepresented in state legislatures. Since his appointment, Salahuddin has been a consistent progressive voice in the Legislature, using his position to advocate for our most vulnerable communities. He was the sponsor of several bills that improved gun safety, encouraged affordable housing development, and protected our immigrant communities. Salahuddin has also introduced bills to improve crisis response services, expand affordable housing development options, and support students with dependents. He also voted in favor of the historic Millionaires Tax, which will help provide free school lunches and expand eligibility for the Working Families Tax Credit. His re-election campaign has earned him the endorsements from several of our progressive partner organizations. Osman Salahuddin deserves your vote to serve another term representing the 48th Legislative District in the state House.
