Incumbent Lee has a strong grasp of housing production policy, and of what commissioners can and cannot do to make it easier to build homes. His detailed knowledge of what’s needed to enable more office-to-residential conversions is an asset for ANC 2C, which is at the epicenter of the District’s real estate slump, as is his “first step” of asking who isn’t in the room when making a decision. Lee’s willingness to speak directly to “the unglamorous, technical casework that actually shapes daily life downtown” is a quality that we look for in our endorsees, and it’s on display in his response to our questionnaire.
