Ann Shippy spent 28 years as an Air Force Colonel before coming home to Hilton Head to be an HOA president, a church elder, and a Humane Association volunteer, because apparently retirement wasn't going to slow her down. Her husband Doug is a retired fighter pilot, so between the two of them this household has commanded more people and more aircraft than most of Columbia combined.
