There is not much information on the democratic candidate, however, here is some information on why you should oppose the incumbent.

Rep. Stephen Frank wants to make barber licensing entirely optional in South Carolina. His bill would let anyone cut hair professionally with zero training, zero license, and zero oversight, while the state still keeps every inspection rule on the books for shops that do bother hiring licensed barbers.

Same session, he also went after local democracy in his own backyard: a bill converting Greenville County's nonpartisan school board into a partisan one starting in 2026.

And he was a primary sponsor on the resolution formally asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges (the 2015 ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide) and hand the issue back to the states. Just a reminder, South Carolina's ban on same-sex marriage was never actually repealed, it's just sitting dormant on the books, and it would snap right back into effect the moment Obergefell falls.

He voted "yes" on the mid-cycle change to Congressional maps (H.5683). A bill that was so hurried, the map included precincts that no longer existed.

Frank put his name on H.3537 treating abortion as homicide from the moment of fertilization, with no exception for rape or incest. A position extreme enough that it would have expose someone to the state's existing murder penalties for ending a pregnancy under any circumstance.
