Lauren Jewett, LA-01 (running for higher office)

As a public school teacher for over 16 years who has been personally and profoundly impacted by gun violence—losing four students and witnessing the lasting trauma it brings into our schools, Lauren understands, firsthand, how gun violence harms children, families, and educators. She is committed to bringing these stories to Congress to fight for common-sense gun safety.

Lauren Jewett brings the perspective of a special-education teacher and union member to Congress. Her priorities include standing up for educators, protecting labor rights, and fighting for policies that support working families and the communities they call home.

Signed The AI PACT, the Political Integrity Project's five-point pledge: end data center tax breaks and backroom deals, require independent safety review of every major AI model before release, create an AI dividend sharing gains with displaced workers, make AI companies legally accountable for harms, and refuse taxpayer bailouts for AI firms. Moderate on AI safety and regulation, strong on data center opposition, moderate public voice on AI.
