Incumbent Senator Cynthia Lummis (CFGF Lifetime Rating 85%) announced she would not seek re-election. Harriet Hageman (CFGF Lifetime Rating 97%) ran to succeed her and won the Republican primary on August 18, 2026, securing the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. She will face Democrat James Byrd in the general election. Wyoming remains a solidly Republican state; in 2024, President Trump defeated Kamala Harris 72.3% to 26.1%.
