Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor

EMILYs List recruits, trains and supports Democratic pro-choice women candidates at every level of the ballot. By helping to elect these women to office in 2025 and 2026, we’re not only building a foundation for the future, but we’re also putting strong women in charge of decisions that affect women and families every day — from the legislators who write laws to the attorneys general who defend and enforce them to the secretaries of state who ensure access to the ballot.

As lieutenant governor, she will fight to be an advocate for needed action in her state and always push the legislature to take up the kinds of gun safety solutions that can save lives across the Badger State, like universal background checks, red flag laws, safe storage requirements, and strong funding for community violence intervention programs that are proven to break cycles of violence.

Please note, Sarah Godlewski will be the Lt. Governor candidate on the ballot with David Crowley.

A fifth-generation Wisconsinite from Eau Claire, Sarah Godlewski serves as Wisconsin’s Secretary of State and previously served as State Treasurer. Before public office she co-founded a mission-driven investment firm and worked as a strategic-planning consultant. Running for Lieutenant Governor alongside David Crowley, she is focused on kitchen-table issues for working families, holding corporations accountable, and investing in renewable energy.

David Crowley knows public safety starts with public health. That’s why, as Milwaukee County Executive, his administration has made historic investments in mental health, violence prevention, and services to support youth, seniors, and veterans. Crowley’s gun violence prevention investments include: launching the Advance Peace initiative, an evidence-based gun violence prevention program that connects high-risk youth with intensive support and opportunities, investing $80 million in Milwaukee County’s public safety, and securing state funding for new community violence intervention programs. Electing both Crowley and Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski to the governor and lieutenant governor’s offices will ensure that investments in Wisconsin’s public safety will continue.

As a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, working mom, daughter of two public school teachers, and product of a union home, Sarah Godlewski is no stranger to being scrappy if that’s what it takes to get the job done. She’s a dedicated public servant and an experienced business leader who has never been afraid to take on the tough fights and deliver results.

Over the past seven years, I’ve had the honor of serving the people of Wisconsin — first as your State Treasurer, and now as your Secretary of State. I’m proud of what we’ve done together: preventing foreclosures, expanding home ownership, delivering record-breaking funds to public schools, and improving access to services.
