Amendment 1: Increase Acre Limit for Agriculture and Timber Conservation Use Property Tax Classification Amendment
Georgia has a program called the Conservation Use Valuation Assessment (CUVA). It allows qualifying farmland, timberland, and conservation property to be taxed based on its agricultural or conservation use rather than its potentially higher market value.
Currently, an owner can enroll up to 2,000 acres. This amendment would increase that limit to 4,000 acres.
Amendment 2: Require Nonpartisan Elections for Probate Judges Amendment
Probate judges handle important legal matters such as wills, estates, guardianships, and certain marriage-related responsibilities.
Georgia currently allows probate judges to be elected in partisan elections. This amendment would require all probate judge elections to be nonpartisan, meaning candidates would appear without Democratic or Republican labels.
Amendment 3: Authorize Creation of Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund Amendment
What does this mean?
Georgia wants the constitutional authority to create a dedicated fund for modernizing and maintaining emergency 911 systems.
The amendment would allow lawmakers to direct certain existing revenues into a protected fund used exclusively for emergency 911 operations, maintenance, and expansion.
The money would also carry over from year to year instead of expiring at the end of the fiscal year.
Levy Sales Tax to Fund Public Education Improvements Measure
Fulton County voters are being asked whether to renew the existing 1% sales tax that funds school construction, renovations, technology, security improvements, equipment, and school buses.
The tax would continue for up to five years, beginning July 1, 2027, and raise a maximum of approximately $2.096 billion
