Rimga Viskanta
Progressive voter choice: Rimga Viskanta (challenger).
Viskanta is a trustee of the San Dieguito Union High School District and previously served on the Encinitas Union School District board from 2016 to 2020. She announced her mayoral campaign on February 4, 2026, and lives in Old Encinitas. The Coast News has reported union backing for her campaign.
Rimga Viskanta’s priorities include safer streets and realistic housing policies.
Her endorsements do not include anyone whose content was approvingly reposted by Donald Trump.
