In 2020, Christian unseated a three-term incumbent to become the youngest and first Black Harris County Attorney. From day one, he went to work fighting for the people. When Texas Republicans tried to restrict voting rights and throw out election results, he fought them in court and won. When corporations polluted Black and Brown neighborhoods, he forced them to clean up their mess. And when businesses price-gouged families during hurricanes and disasters, he held them accountable.
Christian has been engaged in the national legal fight against Trump—challenging his administration’s efforts to cut funding for life-saving medical research and deny birthright citizenship to immigrant families. I am disappointed that he has not signed the Block the Bombs Act.

Rep. Vikki Goodwin is serving her fourth term in the Texas Legislature, representing parts of Austin and the Lake Travis area.
As a member of the Appropriations Article III Subcommittee overseeing education funding, she champions educational equity and access at all levels. Her priorities are to increase funding to public schools, housing affordability, water infrastructure, and access to healthcare. She earned a perfect 100% score from the Sierra Club for her environmental and conservation voting record in the senate. Priorities include: supporting teachers/public education (opposing the voucher scam), ensure access to clean water/energy, affordable housing, and comprehensive healthcare. Nathan Johnson is a seasoned litigator and a Texas State Senator, with a proven record of effective public service. Since taking office in 2019, Senator Johnson has authored approximately 433 bills and passed 134 into law. His portfolio affects virtually every aspect of public policy in Texas, including water, electrical power and growth of the grid, public education, health and healthcare (physical and mental), environmental protection and enforcement, workforce development, banking, construction, housing, artificial intelligence, law enforcement and criminal justice. His legislative record reflects a consistent emphasis on government transparency, legal clarity, and responsible use of public resources. He earned a high score of 86% from the Sierra Club for his environmental and conservation voting record in the Senate.

Staci Childs is a lawyer, educator, and current Member of the Texas State Board of Education. She fought and won to keep a beloved District 131 school from being closed in 2024. First State Board of Education member in Texas history to successfully secure millions of dollars for elementary school intervention. Priorities include: strong public schools, affordable healthcare and investment in community wellness, and a fair criminal justice system.

Dr. Darlene Breaux is a lifelong educator, advocate, and servant leader. With over 25 years of experience as a teacher, mentor, school board president, and policy leader, she’s dedicated to building stronger, more equitable communities. Raised in a working-class family that valued education and hard work, she knows firsthand the challenges families face, and how policy can open doors to opportunity. Priorities include: education (teacher pay and prof. dev., access to resources for students w/ developmental disabilities), economic opportunity (support small business, workforce training), affordable housing (expand access, support first-time home buyers, protect residents from displacement), healthcare access (telehealth, mental health, preventive care), and infrastructure (flood prevention and drainage, upgrade TX electric grid, and improve roads, sidewalks, lighting).

INCUMBENT; 24 years experience (17 as attorney and 7 as judge). His decisions have never been reversed by an appellate court in seven years—proving legal expertise and sound judgment. Consistently ranked among the top three judges by the Houston Bar Association. He was honored to be named the 2022 Texas District Judge of the Year. Priorities include: defending judicial independence and criminal justice reform.

Darrell Jordan moved to Texas in 1999; earned his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University; and practiced law for nearly two decades. He served in the U.S. Army for 24 years and currently serves as head of the Texas Army National Guard's Trial Defense Services Office. I was unable to locate an issues page on his website.

Dr. Letitia Plummer is a proud mother, small business owner (dentist) and former Houston City Council Member. Priorities include: emergency preparedness (flooding, winter weather, expanding disaster education), affordability (stop county property tax increases, increase financial support for first-time home buyers, support small businesses, and cut down on business permit wait times and back logs), healthcare (support addiction/mental health programs, improving environmental standards, create health education program for chronic illness awareness and prevention), and public safety (introduce workforce program to reduce jail recidivism, advocate for immigrant rights).
