Juliana Stratton has impressed me from the moment I met her, about 8 years ago. I have been grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her on turning the tide on our state's opioid overdose crisis. She is a valiant fighter for the underdog and the marginalized. I also appreciate that she has not taken a dollar from PACs or special interest groups. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has represented our community well in Congress, and I have appreciated his support of the issues I've brought to him. However, I am concerned about his taking money from MAGA donors and Big PACs, but I appreciate that he owned it and has worked to repair that decision. I respect Congresswoman Robin Kelly greatly as well. She has been committed to her role as a legislator and is responsible for significant healthcare legislation in DC. I am sad that Kevin Ryan hasn't had as much of a platform as he deserves. His approach and values shine, and we need him fighting for us at some level.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to meet Kevin Morrison then you know how he's not really into lip service. He gets to work and he's been a massive champion for working families, mental health access, LGBTQ+ rights, and environmental stewardship, among other critical issues. I met Kevin working together on overdose prevention policy in Cook County where he has helped bring millions of dollars in funding to abate the opioid crisis. He shows up at community events of all sizes - from school board meetings to rallies and fundraisers for community-based orgs. He knows his community inside and out.

I HIGHLY caution anyone getting the unnecessary amount of mailers from Melissa Bean to recycle those immediately. Her voting record while in the U.S. Congress is abysmal. And, she is raking in millions from corporate PACs and dark money. Oh, and she doesn't even live in the district.

I have been impressed with Dan's leadership as the mayor of Evanston and as a State Rep, and have personally experienced standing up critical social services in the community alongside him and his team. I align with Kat's progressive agenda and appreciate her campaign a lot; however, I am concerned about the fact that she is not from the district. I also have an immense amount of respect for Senator Laura Fine, having worked with her on significant mental health legislation and her support for human rights and social services. I am, however, concerned about her decision to take money from AIPAC and MAGA donors. I want to be clear that I am not a 9th district voter.
