California General Election
U.S. House California District 12

Lateefah Simon
Lateefah Simon- is the fighter who has continued the good work of former Congresswoman Barbara Lee. She is bringing resources to our district and standing strong against trump, Mike Johnson and the cabinet clown show. She will be reelected, thank goddess.
U.S. House California District 14

Aisha Wahab
She is the new Congresswoman of a neighboring district. We cannot vote for her in our part of the county but can cheer her on and spread the word. She is taking over after Eric Swallwell crashed and burned in front of the whole world. Her rise has seemed to be meteoric but was hard won, and her policies are aimed to make life better for working families. With these two congresswomen representing the Bay Area, we can actually challenge all the powers that be (well almost.) https://www.ktvu.com/news/californias-aisha-wahab-is-1st-afghan-american-sworn-congress.amp
California Governor

Xavier Becerra
a former Secretary of Health and Human Services under Biden and California Attorney General is likely to win. Hopefully he will take some tough stands against the corporate control of our every day lives: regulate AI, get tough on corporate electricty providers, healthcare companies who deny care, and hedge funds that buy up housing. Oh well, a girl can dream.
California Lieutenant Governor

Fiona Ma
She's definitely got baggage but she knows budgeting and funding and cares about housing and the environment unlike her once moderate Dem opponent who is now a full on MAGA Republican, supports RFK jr and the rest of that mess.
California Attorney General

Rob Bonta
Bonta was an Oakland/Alameda assemblyman and then became the state's AG. Most people would say he has done a good job protecting our large, populous state from trump's depredations. Recently he let an important antitrust media deal slip through to a settlement which freaked out media watchers. My guess is that the guy who initially appointed him, the guv, ordered him to do it.
This decision was very important because in his fights with the trump administration, he has been the leader. Without California, it's more difficult to fight and win. But our governor was warned that Hollywood could lose its hold on the entertainment industry if we didn't let the Ellisons take over all major studios including CNN. I'll let you think about why Hollywood is fading but it seems this kind of desperate measure will not bring it back.
California Secretary of State

Shirley Weber
She was a progressive assemblyperson before being initially appointed to this position. She is an excellent protector of our voting rights and more.
California Controller

Malia Cohen
yes to both.
California Treasurer

Eleni Kounalakis
yes to both.
California Insurance Commissioner

Jane Kim
Jane is a real fighter for the average working families’ needs. This position controls whether you can keep your home or leeo driving your car. If your insurance gets canceled because your insurance company's huge profits dip, your bank can call in your mortgage. There are so many parts of our lives controlled by insurance companies including healthcare, homeownership, & safe driving. She's the real deal and will advocate for consumers. Ben Allen is my number 2 choice and would likely be satisfactory too.

California Superintendent of Public Instruction

Richard Barrera
He is well qualified but you should know that Gov Newsom has just passed a law removing most of his already limited powers to the governor's office. I hope he can still make something of this office-it will take courage and creativity.
California State Assembly - District 14

Mark Rendon
He's a Green and I can't tell you that he's unlikely to beat Wicks who doesn't even respond to the Wellstone Club's requests to appear for endorsement consideration. Ironically, she served as “the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement” for Barack Obama and as such has powerful and wealthy supporters. But if she were the state rep for a less progressive, less engaged district, she would probably be an acceptable choice-but not here.
Rendon is a former teacher and Oakland Education Association rep who will fight for CalCare, social housing and climate change measures. Send a message by giving him a chance.
California State Assembly - District 18

Mia Bonta
has been doing good work for our district and will be reelected.
